Materials
- Fruit fly culture mix
- Fruit fly culture cups with mesh lids
- Excelsior
- Fruit fly culture that is currently producing
Directions
- Buy fly culture mix (I.e., Repashy Superfly), fly culture cups with mesh lids, Excelsior, and a producing fruit fly culture.
- Mix with hot water per instructions. Let cool.
- Add a handful of Excelsior.
- Add 50-100 fruit flies from the producing mix.
- Wait 2 weeks if melanogaster, 3-4 if hydei.
